In the spring of 2006, we introduced our Horse feed into the market place. We started with a whole oats product, and a revolutionary way of doing rolled oats. The way we did this product, was to clean, and crack the oats, weith the use of our cleaning equipment, and our specially designed steel roller, we created a product, that was like whole oats, but the horse could digest the oats like rolled oats, without the dust, and mold problems that all the other feed companies had. This fee quickly became a big seller. So much that we took over 70% of the Alberta Horse feed market. We are very thankful for the support of the horse industry.
Later that year, we came up with an Idea, to come up with a feed, that people could use to help there horses, digest the Vitamins and minerals the horses need to have the heatlhy balance they need. We worked with DR.Jim Gowen, and together, we came up with a product called healthy horse feed. This product had two blends, one was a 12% the other was a 16%. What we did, was, clean and roll the oats, then we mixed a blend of sugarcane molasses, with canola oil. Then we rolled fresh cleaned flax, to bring the shine out in the horse. After that we mixed 25 vitamins and minerals. We found that when we mixed the vitamins and minerals with the molasses, the vitamins and minerals dissolved in the mis so that the horses could not separate them out. We found in our year of testing on 30 plus horses if the Vitamins and minerals were digested evenly, the horses got more out of the blend. The other thing we found out in our testing, was, 90% of most of the horses medical problems come from feed, and the fact that most horses can not access, the natural vitamins and minerals that are in natural hay and feed. We found that the vitamins and minerals work together to unlock the natural minerals that are found in grass, hay, and feed in general. After this year of testing, we discovered, that this balanced blend of vitamins and minerals, in a horse's diet saved the horse owner, on a average of a $1000 dollars per horse in a 5 year period. We also found that horses that are middle to senior age that amount that the average horse owner saves on vet bils and feed costs goes up, and in some cases it saves, them $1000 dollars per year. The other interesting thing that we discovered was, how imortant maganese, (not magnesium) is important in there diet. Manganese is responsible for preventng crooked legs in foals, deformed joints, stiff joints, and general soreness.
In response to our year study, we came out with a new product, called Balance Diet. There are two types, Noralta 12% balanced Diet, and the Noralta 16% Balanced Diet, these two blends replace the healthy horse blends.
